Will Love find me...? Hhhmmm! Yes! 💖

Today's gift from life was in the form of a small card, a card from a set of " 100 Divinations for Uncertain Days ". Its Author, Maria Popova...a wonderful writer, researcher, poet, philosopher...and I can also call Her, Teacher. She writes wonderful work titled "The Marginalian", a writing of humanity, and its connection - my 'thing' - to that side of us as beings that best be termed 'spirit'. Not religion, please!, I warn you.     Well, enough with Her introduction for you can look for Her and experience her gifts. Check out this one link - a special one: https://www.themarginalian.org/2024/10/22/marginalian-18/  Anyway, as I was saying, the card I picked today read as follows:                Searching for love is a dead end,                 lined with melancholy, but ...                have no doubt that lo...

Beauty is everywhere! ...looking out...look!    And how much time we spend looking for it! When the only thing we need to do is ...                                    ...look out the window! And while looking, remember Richard Bach's lines: "We shall forever return to the arms of those we love, whether our parting  is overnight or over death.  The only thing that lasts is love."

Love deliberately!

Half light, half shadow, Let my spirit steep... ... ... They never learned to love Who never knew to weep.*   so, "Live deliberately!" **   and do not forget to...   LOVE deliberately!!!     * - Tennyson ** - Movie "My Oxford Year"

Anxiety... "Shall we jump? He's getting closer! Ready? Will you follow me? Yet, the entire scene is so peaceful, "campestre", lighted by a midday sun, clear, warm, a fresh breeze inviting...yet, there it is...anxiety...! 😨   Later that day, reading David Whyte's pp. 23-34, he communicates...: "One of the greatest gifts we can give to our friends, our partners, our children, or our colleagues, might be to forsake anxiety: to realize how much we use our worrying as a barrier to our becoming and a protection against real intimacy, real friendship and a real engagement with our work. One of our greatest gifts as a provider might be to stop all the worry about those we are providing for; to provide something else, something that is more difficult to give about something they might actually want – a deeper more rested, and invitational sense of presence and the gift of timelessness in that presence."   I had never thought of it that way...        Ref: Con...

Darkness makes vision possible...and there is love!

Image
The Presence of Love Darkness makes vision possible... ahhh! I can see now! "Darkness IS hard. It is the pain of betrayal. It is the fear of being truly alone. It is the heaviness that comes when we sincerely believe we are not connected anymore to those we most love. Darkness is a very difficult power to be bound to. Within darkness, though, there's a form of vision that becomes available, the most powerful form possible, that comes from the Light sourced from within us. When those we love most leave, when we feel cut off from hope, the ensuing darkness gives us the chance to practice seeing the light that originates from within.   How do we learn to see in the dark? How?   We use the darkness, that feeling of being cut off from all external sources of love in our lives, to harness the tremendous love that's right here within us. Always.    We see then our own source of love. And we feel again the deepest power that exists in this world: the power of the love that's...

I came across this prayer three days ago. Don't ask me how or where.  But I read it and it felt...soft, so good. Not asking as a to-do would, or a 'must', or a 'should': it just showed itself and asked nothing, no thing of me.  In that, it was a wonder. I knew immediately this was a 'keeper'. But, for what? No answer, of course. Dumb question. The author of the writing is Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer, and this was in the website of Polly Castor, https://pollycastor.com/2023/03/12/on-prayer-poem-by-rosemerry-wahtola-trommer/ Recognition to them both - thank you for this gift! So here it is:  “On Prayer”: Today prayer is the silence in the snow-deep meadow. It’s the gurgle of the ice-choked river that cannot be heard unless I am completely still. Today, prayer is not to, it’s not for, it’s something I am more than something I do. Prayer is even the sound of the logging trucks on the highway as they brake rounding the corner. It’s the rapid shush, shush, shush of...

Child wolf and the Look of Love

Image
Child wolf and the Look of Love Why is it that we think of wolves and strong negative emotions come immediately? We are assaulted by fear? The image of a wild, ferocious beast comes to mind, intently after us! One that we find difficult to run from. Boy! Are they fast! They can achieve 36-38 miles per hour in short bursts! Even the fastest person clocked is the Jamaican athlete Usain Bolt at 23.4 mph!, at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 100 meter sprint. So not even Usain could outrun them!!! Recently the State of Idaho passed a law allowing the killing of up to 90% of the states wolves - imagine the carnage, the brutality, the killing thirst driving those human beings! After all, aren’t wolves ‘sentient’ beings? And having exercised that killing spree, who was most hurt by it? The wolves…?They embrace each day, day after day, without worry, living each moment in their environment. Do you think they worry over door alarms, closing of doors, staking out traps for the enemy? Or, do ...
