Presidential lies...popular faith in it
1 May: significant day, esp. in our times. Notice how there is little indignation on the issue of the President of the US (ugh!) lying. And worse yet, so many think that is great: a revengeful punch against values - of truthfulness, democracy, representation, caring for others, etc. Raunchy, angry "populist" - people, that is - 'burning' it all, in spite of their own present and future (which they can't see). Spite? Revenge against...an order and authority they see as despicable. Memory of their parent, growing up upbringing. Previous experiences of frustration, of hurt, mistrust, abuse, anger? They profess a bully to lead the charge they in turn idealize for themselves. Broken society, souls, system. Sad.
