Quote...on Suffering...

Image
"This was a wonderful moment. Suffering is created by wanting things to be other than they are. It's that simple. As soon as we relax into how they are - as soon as we stop the W ar W ith R eality - happiness and sweetness begin to subtly arise, dusting our insides not with craving and aversion, but with equanimity. This miracle can happen even in the midst of the most difficult of human vicissitudes." p.108, 9 You know that as I read this, the inner voice says "of course!" The little child within recognizes the crying state when it does not get or think he is not getting what he wants. And that awareness is neat. But the one that blew my mind...that is a 'simile', btw, is that happiness and sweetness are there when one stops the war... WWR . The W ar W ith R eality.  ( WWR... Sounds like an inner growl, doesn't it ?) So that, we have peace underlying everything! We just need to stop roughing up the waters, making waves of noise and disturbance....

Ohoh...yoga is not..."christian"...

Take a look at the link...I am in trouble with Jesus! I love yoga so much. It quiets my mind, and it allows me to go to silence. It keeps away so much stuff. It takes away my bed kinks in the morning. It helps me stretch my office-seat-and-quads, which do not allow me to stand straight after sitting for at least 2 hours per round.  It makes me think of the prayer of silence, what they used to call 'adoration'. It seems to take me to the 'door', just short of knocking on it. And now, not any old WASP - White Anglo Saxon Protestant, but!...how about the Southern Baptist Seminary President ...Albert Mohler! Táquiti! Mr. Seminary President says “ the stretching and meditative discipline derived from Eastern religions is not a Christian pathway to God .” Mohler said he objects to " the idea that the body is a vehicle for reaching consciousness with the divine ." " That's just not Christianity ," Mohler told The Associated Press. Of course   tha...

Welcome! Welcome...whatever it is...Let go!

Take a look at this... the Welcoming Prayer . I had never thought of a prayer like this... Focus, feel and sink into. the feelings, emotions, thoughts, sensations and commentaries in your body. Welcome the Divine Indwelling in the feelings,  emotions, thoughts, commentaries  or sensations in your body by saying  " Welcome! ". Let go by repeating the following sentences: "I let go of the desire for security, affection, control. I let go of the desire to change this feeling, this sensation". A quote by Jean-Pierre de Caussade: "What God arranges for us to experience at each moment is the best and holiest thing that could happen to us." The link for the Welcoming Prayer Method is: Mary Mrozowski ...I am glad that God has been...arranging...? I think we need to have a chat...a loving one, that is...ehem... This theme keeps coming up. More of that coming...
