Catching up...Dec 16th, 08

Catching up with life, as it seems to whiz by so fast these days. We have returned from a very neat trip, and have started catching up with so many other fronts: a box full of mail (mostly commercial, junk mail, that is , and Yes!, a whole carton, maybe 3 X 3 X 2, that a friend and neighbor, Chris, was so nice to collect our mail while we were gone. I wish there were a way to "unsubscribe" from all that junk mail, and sales offerings!).

Another front, work, with many e-mails and tasks to catch up with. House cleaning and picking up, washing and drying of the clothes taken on the trip, putting away the luggage, and restoring the house to its original state, etc., etc. On top of all that, the season with its multiple drives, activities, invitations from dear ones, calls, mail, cards, etc. So the strategy has been...one thing at a time. Just focusing on one thing, getting that done, or addressed, and moving to the next one, till balance is re-established. It is...@#$%^&*...tough!, but doable.

The pressure has been on to keep up with the blog, something that has been quite exciting to do and share. This is such a neat way to commo and share experiences and thoughts. The reason for the discontinuity (is that a word?), was that after leaving the first hotel - The Dominican - and moving into the second and third hotels, neither of these had easily accessible - nor economical - internet/Wifi connections. They were expensive, and did not present themselves attractive enough to spend the time, and the Euros! That is the reason why there is so much still to share and tell you about our trip.

I also want to bring in the 'business' subject matter: all about migration and integration of societies within the EU. Quite special.

The next blogs will focus on themes, activities, issues, etc., irrespective of date, and someway, somehow I will figure how to load up the blog with photos of people, places, sites, events, etc. Sunday afternoon was spent downloading into iPhoto: editing, deleting, cropping photos, and thinking how to present them in this medium, without overloading the page.

It is great to be back. It is great to come back to familiar environments, people, and friends.

Till soon,
